Discover the Art of Eyewear with Matsuda at CustomEyes

February 21, 2025

At CustomEyes, we believe eyewear should be more than just a functional accessory—it should be a work of art. That’s why we continuously seek out the most talented eyewear artisans from around the world. We are proud to introduce Matsuda Eyewear to our collection, a brand renowned for pushing the boundaries of craftsmanship, design, and artistry.

Eyewear Like No Other

Matsuda eyewear is truly one of a kind. Each frame takes an astounding average of 250 steps, requires 71 hours, and involves the expertise of 13 skilled craftsmen. The level of dedication and precision that goes into each pair sets Matsuda apart from nearly every other eyewear collection available today. From the meticulously chosen materials to the breathtaking designs, every frame exudes unparalleled quality.

Experience Matsuda in Person

To fully appreciate the craftsmanship behind Matsuda eyewear, you need to see it up close. Hand-scribed into each frame, the fine details are uniquely stunning and truly a sight to behold. Crafted by hand in the renowned eyewear workshops of Sabae, Japan, each frame results from years of experimentation and creative exploration. Some designs can take years to complete and require as many as 250 steps to bring to life. Every frame tells a story of innovation, dedication, and artistry.

Craftsmanship Meets Innovation

Matsuda’s commitment to quality is evident in their choice of materials. The brand uses only the finest metals, including titanium, stainless steel, sterling silver, and 18k solid gold. These precious metals are transformed by Matsuda’s master craftsmen into intricately detailed works of art, employing techniques that few others would attempt. The result? Eyewear that’s not mass-produced, but rather crafted with precision and passion.

In addition to these fine metals, Matsuda also uses Japanese acetate, sculpted exclusively from organic plastic derived from cotton. The acetate undergoes a curing process of over three months, producing colors that are not only rich but also incredibly durable. This lengthy process ensures that each frame is as strong as it is beautiful. Afterward, the frames are hand-finished by master polishers who have spent 10 years perfecting their craft, resulting in a soft feel and a sculpted design that’s built to last.

Art in Eyewear

The ultrafine hand etching and extreme attention to detail are what truly set Matsuda’s designs apart. No other eyewear brand can match the artistry and precision that goes into each frame. Matsuda eyewear is a statement of style, craftsmanship, and individuality.

See the Art. Wear the Vision.
